At 91 years old, Faith still believes she can move mountains.
She said so through song, her husband playing the guitar as she delicately tap danced from a chair in their sunlit Adams Morgan apartment, framed by a bust of Beethoven and a ballet barre showing few signs of recent use.
In November, Washington, D.C. voters will see Faith’s name on the mayoral ballot for the ninth time, running under the banner of the D.C. Statehood Green party.
While she is a perennial candidate, Faith, who has legally dropped her last name, is no politician. She is an artist, and she wants members of the community to be artists, too.
